[One Piece] Is Shutenmaru Kozuki Oden's Strongest Samurai?

Kozuki Oden once owned ten samurai. One is Izo, who prefers to be the commander in Whitebeard's fleet. The other nine are Shutenmaru aka Ashura Douji, Kikunojo, Nekomamushi, Inuarashi, Kawamatsu, Raizo, Kanjuro, Kinemon, and Denjiro. 

So far, of the nine names, Shutenmaru is the one that feels the strongest. This is the reason!

1. Shutenmaru has been strong since he was young

When Kuri was still known as a place without rules, Shutenmaru was already considered the strongest monster in the region. 

This was quite amazing, since Shutenmaru should have been young back then. In terms of potential strength, he might almost match Oden. Before that, Oden had made a mess as a child.

In comparison, at that time Denjiro was still a child. Kinemon was strong, but he couldn't do much against the Mountain God. Meanwhile, Shutenmaru can provide an interesting fight against Oden. 

2. In terms of skills, Shutenmaru is able to hold Oden long enough

When Kinemon and the others find Oden, Oden says that the fight takes a whole day. 

This fight must have been prolonged by the many bandits of Shutenmaru's men. Even so, Oden still looks like he just managed to overcome Shutenmaru before Kinemon came. 

Even if we're not shown, Shutenmaru's fight is definitely not easy. Considering that Shutenmaru was also young at that time, this was a great achievement. Especially since this Oden was strong enough to slash a Mountain God with a single move. 

3. After that, Shutenmaru also developed his skills in 20 years

In One Piece, getting old is not a problem. The stamina of the elders might decrease, but in return their combat experience far surpassed that of the younger generation. For an example, just look at Silvers Rayleigh. 

Unlike Kinemon, Raizo, Kikunojo, and Kanjuro, Shutenmaru is not sent to the future. He was also not captured like Kawamatsu. So if during these 20 years he hones his skills, his strength seems to have surpassed his other colleagues.  

4. Suitable for fighting one of the Three Calamities?

Considering the above factors, it seems that Shutenmaru is indeed Kozuki Oden's strongest samurai. 

Since there are a lot of enemies that Luffy has to fight, especially if Big Mom is serious about having an alliance with Kaido, then Shutenmaru will be very vital to become a bouncer. 

He felt fit to fight Jack one-on-one. Especially since Jack himself had tasted Shutenmaru's sword before. Otherwise, Shutenmaru also seems suitable against Big Mom's minions like Oven, Daifuku, or even Smoothie.
