3. Escape to Dressrosa
Unlike the fate of Kinemon and Raizo who tried to escape, Kanjuro was easily caught and brought to Dressrosa to face Donquixote Doflamingo. It could be that Kanjuro had deliberately given up so that he could provide information to one of Kaido's men.
When the Straw Hat Pirates initiated an attack to free Dressrosa from Donquixote Doflamingo's clutches, Kanjuro was not seen fighting the Donquixote Pirates. However, Kanjuro had become a One Piece hero when he saved the citizens of Dressrosa from Doflamingo's bird's nest and held him together with Zoro and Kinemon.
4. Tell Jack about Zou
After from Dressrosa, Kanjuro and the remaining Straw Hat Pirates set off for the island of Zou. For no apparent reason, one of Kaido's top brass, Jack, was able to find Zunisha, a large elephant that was the foundation of Zou's island and climb it to look for Raizo. It could be, this was all Kanjuro's doing informing the Beasts Pirates.

I don't know what Kanjuro's motive was for betraying Oden and his friends. In fact, he has a debt of life with the samurai. If traced from his past originating in the Kibi area, it could be that he is a member of the Kurozumi clan or is subject to the Orochi ancestors.
