Yami Yami No Mi Fruit, Which Has the Power To Steal Devil Fruit Powers

We know that the Yami Yami no Mi  Teach can pull objects inward to align with gravity and how black holes work.

Teach  studied Devil Fruit knowledge extensively, so it wouldn't go far to say that his abilities are capable of nullifying    Devil Fruit powers  due to the dark evil nature of the fruit's power being essentially attracted by its darkness.

The darkness of the fruit -eating ability that gave them the described ‘demon’ power was in their bodies, unless they woke up, which is why he had to touch them to drag that power in and kidnap them.

Since Teach killed Thatch and took the ability for himself and learned about how it works and researched it, we can assume while digging deep into his abilities and the knowledge he reads about fruits.

Similar to when he negates the  vessel-bound Devil Fruit ability  of an active user, when the user dies and becomes an empty vessel, the spirit energy or demonic presence of that ability leaves to have a similar fruit return to circulation, this is well established in the One Piece world.

So what he did was he used the Yami Yami no Mi's ability to draw a power that the ship didn't have into the other ships. Whether it was someone else under a black blanket with him, himself as a one-time thing, or a fruit similar to the fruit description in the  Devil Fruit books , it didn't matter.

This is why when Absalom is killed, it is assumed he used the power of the Yami Yami no Mi to capture and transfer his demon essence into a new container of his choice.
