Some of Sanji's Moments When Rescuing the Straw Hat Pirates

The members of the Straw Hat Pirates  are like family, and they have stuck with each other through ups and downs. At first, it was just Luffy , but, as he continued to travel, he made more friends. Sanji joined the crew during the Baratie arc and from the first moment      Luffy  met him, the latter wanted  Sanji to join the crew.

Sanji is not only the crew's cook, but also part of the Monster Trio. Unlike Zoro and  Luffy ,  Sanji is actually quite intelligent and capable of making the right decisions, and he is undoubtedly one of the smartest characters in One Piece.

Apart from  Luffy ,  Sanji has saved the crew on many occasions and some of these moments have been forever etched in the memory of One Piece fans.

Opening the Gate of Justice

Members  of the Straw Hat Pirates faced an uphill battle as they battled against CP9 and the Marines at Enies Lobby . When  Luffy finally defeated Rob Lucci ,  the Straw Hat Pirates prepared to leave  Enies Lobby as the Marines had plenty of reserves and  the Straw  Hat Pirates were too tired to fight them.

Luckily for  the Straw  Hat Pirates ,  Sanji has used his wits once again. This time, he had pulled the switch lever that closed the Gate of Justice, allowing  the Straw  Hat Pirates to escape the Marines unscathed.

Saving the Crew By Baking a Cake

Many fans believed that Whole Cake Island would focus on  Sanji getting stronger, but the arc instead covered his past and developed his character even further. When  Luffy fought Katakuri in the Mirror World, Big Mom was raging in Totto Land. Triggered by Perospero's lies ,  Big Mom heads to the Thousand Sunny to kill  the Straw  Hat Pirates and retrieve the Wedding Cake.

After  Luffy  returned safely from the Mirror World,  Sanji brought him back to the ship. Since  Big Mom was still chasing them, they needed to find a way to escape. With the help of Pudding and Chiffon ,  Sanji managed to make a cake that was able to stop  Big Mom and her rampage.

As soon  as Big Mom  ate it, she was blown away and stopped her pursuit. So,  Sanji 's cooking saved the crew from death.

Saving the Straw Hat Pirates From Doflaminggo

After some  of the Straw Hat Pirates left for Dressrosa ,  they split into two groups. Sanji 's group  has Caesar , and they are near Green Bit. They knew that it would not be easy to defeat someone as strong as Doflaminggo , so they tried to keep their distance.

However,  Doflaminggo  managed to find  Sanji's group . As he prepares to kill them,  Sanji appears and stops the Warlord. Sanji was overwhelmed by  Doflaminggo , but his intervention was crucial in saving the group. Also, it gave Trafalgar Law enough time to attack  Doflaminggo and grab his attention.

Saving Usopp From Jabra

During the Enies Lobby arc  ,  the Straw Hat Pirates faced the tough task of defeating the CP9 members . They have to defeat them at all costs because it's the only way to save Robin . In that arc,  Zoro and  Usopp had to fight against  Kaku and Jabra.

While  Zoro was able to hold off Kaku ,  Usopp clearly didn't have enough strength to fight  Jabra . Just as the CP9 members were preparing to kill  Usopp ,  Sanji kicked  Jabra and stopped him. They continued to bicker, but it quickly ended once  Sanji decided to get serious.  

Lord Prince

Members  of the Straw Hat Pirates attempted to take down Crocodile , who was the leader of Baroque Works. In the arc,  Crocodile shows time and time again why he is one of the smartest characters in One Piece. Crocodile was able to capture nearly all  of the Straw  Hat Pirates and Smoker.

Only Chopper and  Sanji were spared from  Crocodile 's capture . After  Crocodile and  Robin . leaving  the Straw  Hat Pirates to die,  Sanji was able to intervene at the right time and save the crew from drowning and then being eaten by Bananawani.

Saving Luffy From Drowning

Sanji doesn't have a devil fruit that allows him to fight even underwater. This makes him one of the crew's greatest assets as there are many devil fruit users in the crew.

When  Luffy  fought Arlong , the former was trapped underwater, and, since   Luffy   is a devil fruit user, he was unable to fight there and struggled to free himself. As a result,  Sanji had to free  Luffy , and, after working hard for a long time, he was finally able to save his captain. This allowed  Luffy to come back and fight and defeat  Arlong.  

Saving Usopp From Enel

Enel is the main antagonist of the Skypiea arc, and is very powerful. Only  Luffy  is able to fight him because his Gomu Gomu no Mi is a direct counter to Enel's Goro Goro no Mi. At that time,  the Straw  Hat Pirates did not have any concept of Haki, which made it even more difficult to defeat Enel.

As Enel prepares to kill  Usopp , it looks like Usopp 's death  is inevitable. However,  Sanji managed to arrive just in time. He kicked  Usopp towards Nami and ended up withstanding one of Enel's strongest attacks. Next,  Sanji messed up Enel's ship, which brought the villain's plans to a halt for a bit longer.
